Mission Bay Track and Field

Coach Daniel Perez will be entering his 17th year as a high school track coach, 9th year at Mission Bay and 8th year as the Head Coach. Also is on the JV football staff, as the Special teams coordinator. Starting coaching at the young age of 18 years old coaching Jumps at Patrick Henry from 2007-2014, having 3 state meet qualifiers in the Long Jump, and Triple Jump, multiple League Champs in the Long, Triple and High Jump. Including the 2009 San Diego Section Record in the Girls Heptathlon by Emily Osga. He has helped numerous kids on to the next level to schools like, Harding University, Humboldt State, San Francisco State, UC San Diego, and many more. Coach Perez is the meet director of the Jim Cerveny Invitational. USA Track and Field Level 1 coach, USA Track and Field Certified Official at the national level. Multiple athletes that Play in the NFL, USFL, and XFL.

As an athlete, currently holds the Patrick Henry High School Javelin record 143'3.25 and 2nd all time in the decathlon. Was in top 10 in the triple jump but coached athletes to drop him down the list. Attended Mesa college as a Shot Put and Discus thrower, and Decathlete.

In the off-season Coach can be found spending time with his family. His beautiful fiancé Desiree, and has 5 beautiful kids (Isabella 11, Alex-Zander 10, Max 7, Xavier 4 and Leo 0) that take up the majority of his time.
